Desperately Wanting Wednesday, is inspired by the meme Waiting on Wednesday, which was created by Breaking the Spine. But, unlike WOWs, Desperately Wanting Wednesday is not only for releases that I’m waiting on, it’s also for released novels that I just haven’t purchased yet, or might be sitting on my shelf that I want to read, but just haven’t gotten there yet. These are the books I want to read, what about you?
There are some publishers that it has been IMPOSSIBLE to request from. Even on NetGalley…I guess I’ll have to suck it up and buy this one.
I can’t even be a small blip on this publisher’s radar…
I’ll keep requesting and they’ll keep rejecting…
Title: POISON
Author: Bridget Zinn
Type: Young Adult Fanatsy
Published: Mar 12 2013 by Disney Book Group
The blurb:
Sixteen-year-old Kyra, a highly-skilled potions master, is the only one who knows her kingdom is on the verge of destruction—which means she’s the only one who can save it. Faced with no other choice, Kyra decides to do what she does best: poison the kingdom’s future ruler, who also happens to be her former best friend.
But, for the first time ever, her poisoned dart…misses. Now a fugitive instead of a hero, Kyra is caught in a game of hide-and-seek with the king’s army and her potioner ex-boyfriend, Hal. At least she’s not alone. She’s armed with her vital potions, a too-cute pig, and Fred, the charming adventurer she can’t stop thinking about. Kyra is determined to get herself a second chance (at murder), but will she be able to find and defeat the princess before Hal and the army find her?
Kyra is not your typical murderer, and she’s certainly no damsel-in-distress—she’s the lovable and quick-witted hero of this romantic novel that has all the right ingredients to make teen girls swoon.
Any books that you’ve been turned down for that you just MUST HAVE?

I notice this about NetGalley too! Disney Book Group will never approve any of my requests! It says that they aren’t accepting blogger requests. I wonder why?
yes with Disney too
I never get their books either. I have been hit and miss with their books. I disliked Beta but loved The Darkest Minds… same company
Yep. Disney always rejects me on Netgalley. I don’t even bother anymore when I see the book is from them. It breaks my heart when they reject me.
Hmm…I was turned down awhile back for Indigo Spell. Was pretty bummed too. But oh well, I have plenty else to read while I wait!
Here’s my WoW
Have a GREAT day!

I was starting to feel like I was the only one who got rejected on NetGalley. So glad I’m not alone. I only request the books I really, really want to read, so it’s doubly disheartening when they turn me down.
I’ve never reached out to Disney except through NetGalley and had been approved until they dinged bloggers.
But I feel like I’m totally in that same boat with practically every other publisher.
Of course, I hadn’t heard of this book you mentioned and now that I have read the blurb it is one I desperately want…
This one does sound awesome! Wonder why Disney doesn’t like bloggers?
Disney doesn’t love me, either. *sob* That darned mouse!! *shakes fist*
Velveteen! I wanted that one SO badly, and RH ignored my request. *sobs*

ME TOO!I never get approved on NetGalley but that doesn’t stop me from requesting. I want to show them that I’m interested in their titles. I want them to visually see that they are turning down opportunities for reviews and publicity.
I swooned over this book when I saw the cover. And then I nearly died of saddness when I discovered that this debut author is no longer with us but is still having her debut novel published!!!
I then felt it was my duty to do as much to support this author as I could so I set out to compose the most heartfelt email review request EVER so I could procure my copy and get my request approved on NetGalley. While I didn’t get approved, yet, I did get a prompt response via email from Disney and they shipped my ARC out that day and I received it on Monday!
Congrats on your NetGalley approval! I hope they decide to approve me too. I’d love to keep the ARC in new condition.
