Desperately Wanting Wednesday, is inspired by the meme Waiting on Wednesday, which was created by Breaking the Spine. But, unlike WOWs, Desperately Wanting Wedneday is not only for releases that I’m waiting on, it’s also for released novels that I just haven’t purchased yet, or might be sitting on my shelf that I want to read, but just haven’t gotten there yet.
There are some authors that I know I should read, they are funny, or they get high recommendations in the genres I love.

Mark Henry & Dakota Cassidy
I had the pleasure of stalking both at AAD (yes Dakota Cassidy is actually MORE larger than life in person than she seems on the social networks) and purchasing their books there. Both have that dry sarcastic humor that speaks to my inner asshat…I should read them. I have to read them. Now their books are sitting on my shelf. I had to post the Brazilian cover of ‘Happy Hour of the Damned’ because it is drool worthy…

I love Mark Henry’s Amanda Feral zombie series. It’s so inappropriate and hilarious but also a spot on commentary about society.
I wish that more people gave it a try but I know that kind of book isn’t going to be for everyone ;-(
I haven’t heard of either of these, but I agree that the cover of Happy Hour of the Damned is awesome. I’ll have to check these out!
After seeing both Henry and Cassidy at AADNOLA I now have a few of their books on my shelf and Nook to read. Both were super funny!
I’ve read one of Henry’s books. It was pretty good, but I just don’t know if I am ready for zombies all that much!

First time I ever met Dakota I bought her book immediately. She is so funny I want to bottle her up & keep her with me at all times.
I read Mark before I met him. Now I want to read more of his books.
Both are incredibly personable and easy to talk to. I think anyone who has the opportunity to meet them should. It is definitely an experience they will never forget.
I’ve never heard of Mark Henry, but I absolutely agree that I really need to pick up a book by Dakota Cassidy. I have come so close to buying a couple of her books, but always opted for authors that I was already familiar with. One day!
