Desperately Wanting Wednesday, is inspired by the meme Waiting on Wednesday, which was created by Breaking the Spine. But, unlike WOWs, Desperately Wanting Wedneday is not only for releases that I’m waiting on, it’s also for released novels that I just haven’t purchased yet, or might be sitting on my shelf that I want to read, but just haven’t gotten there yet.
This is the week of cover lust…I’ve seen some fabulous covers lately and I want more…
There is just something about a gorgeous cover, let’s just hope the book holds up to cover lust.
Cover Lust – The act of wanting to read a book, based solely on the cover.
Before her mother died, Cate promised to protect her sisters. But with only six months left to choose between marriage and the Sisterhood, she might not be able to keep her word… especially after she finds her mother’s diary, uncovering a secret that could spell her family’s destruction. Desperate to find alternatives to their fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.
If what her mother wrote is true, the Cahill girls aren’t safe. Not from the Brotherhood, the Sisterhood—not even from each other.
Have you read this one? Is it worth it??
Do you have cover lust? What cover are you lusting over?

I read that one and it was slow to start but overall a interesting story. I think I have a copy of this book somewhere
I liked it a lot, though truthfully I almost wish I’d have waited until the next book was out because it ends on a maaaajor rage-inducing cliffhanger.
This book was very good, definitely worth it! The cover is very nice too
It’s cool how the vines in the title font creep into the vines in the photo – great cover!

You mean you _haven’t_ read Born Wicked yet?! Woman, get on it!
I loved Born Wicked! It was a nice break from the brooding dystopians I usually read, and Jessica really knows how to spin a good yarn
And that cover, ah! If you don’t have the book yet, I’d suggest buying it now, as the publishers are changing it to make it less “sexual” (WTF?) I think the cover is perfect just how it is, and now I’m a little nervous about Star Cursed, the second in the series.
Definitely acquire this book
I’ve never given this cover a proper look until now and I have to agree that that is a beautiful cover. I am lusting over the cover for Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff, Days of and Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor.
Yeah, that one is definitely cool!

I love this cover! And, the book was alright. It wasn’t my favorite read ever, but I’m definitely going to have to read the sequel.
I read this one. It was good but I wasnt in love with it. If you’re really in love with historical fiction and witches and all that, then I’d recommend it. Otherwise, dont. I dont think I’ll read the next one..unless the cover is this amazing and it has a seriously interesting description that fixes my issues. If you want to see my review, it’s here
I must say the cover is all too often what attracts me. It’s somewhat better than what used to attract me which was the idea that I was a brilliant intellectual and would enjoy the many [unfinished] books written up in the longer reviews in the New York Times. Of course with the NYT the reviews could be longer than the actual book…
I have seen this cover and it seemed to me to be part of the girl lying on the ground trend, that followed the girl in an inexplicable dress cover or the girl in a carnival mask cover.
As often as I read because of a cover, I don’t read because of one as well. Maybe those plain bind ups we get as ARCS lack art for more than one reason….?
What really ticks me off is when the cover, if not some abstract color mass, has nothing to do with the story. Or the picture is like the hero and/or heroine and they are completely according to the author’s description or even change races halfway through a series. I don’t care what the race is but even really good shifters generally go back to being the same person; why not just change gender too!? It’s like changing the actor playing a character in a movie.
Oh well…. Not what you asked sorry.
