giveaway Win Cinder by Marissa MeyerToday Parajunkee’s View is offering up a copy of ‘Cinder‘ by  Marissa Meyer. ‘Cinder’ is the first hardcover young adult book that I’ve bought in probably over a year. I usually wait for the paperback release or buy the eBook. Spending the extra money was definitely worth it, this is something I’m excited to have on my shelf for a long time. Now you have the opportunity to win your own! Still not convinced? Read my review.

Cinder is a scifi retelling of the Cinderella story. What fairy-tale or myth would you like to see retold in the science fiction genre?

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. 1. I really want to read this! And I’m seeing it everywhere. Clearly I may have to break down and buy it LOL.

  2. I swear I had the chance to grab this for review and passed it by. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. Great giveaway!

  3. Hmm…I can’t find today’s poll on your website! Something that I should answer “William” to? I’d love to take the poll if I knew what it was. Sorry!

  4. Kelly says:

Well, I would have to say that after watching last night’s episode of Once Upon A Time and their integration of Hansel and Gretel into their story line, I think it would be really interesting to see a YA version of the story.

  5. Tricia Kristufek says:

Hm, I’d like to see what the scifi folks could do with Beauty and the Beast. I’m sure they could come up with something interesting! Great giveaway!

  6. Bethie says:

I can’t find the poll on your blog. I think we are supposed to vote for William, butI don’t know where.

I can’t find the poll!!! Anyhow I really want to read Cinder…….Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
    *hugs*

  16. Jackie says:

It’s not really a fairy tale, but I was always fond of the Robin Hood Disney movie. That would be totally rad if it were steampunkified. Sticking with real fairy tales though? Hm…that’s tough because Cinderella would be on that list but that’s almost like cheating since I’m entering to win a steamy/sci-fi Cinderella retelling. The Little Mermaid would probably be next. Not sure how that would work out though…

    Also, William!

    Who is William anyway?

  17. S.Leighanne says:

I keep seeing this book EVERYWHERE and everyone is raving about it! I can’t wait to read it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  74. Munnaza says:

Thanks so much for this giveaway! I couldn’t see the question for some reason, but I’m guessing it’s which sci-fic fairytale retelling we’d like to see? I’m actually really excited about all the ones Marissa is doing (Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White), but I’d love to see one for Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin (does Aladdin count?), and The Little Mermaid. Haha, basically everything would be awesome if it was retold in this manner. XD Thanks again for the giveaway and the awesome post!

  75. Julia Muldoon says:

What Fairy Tale retelling would I like to see Sci-Fi-ed up?
