Feature & Follow #80

Welcome to the Feature & Follow

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools — keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them “hi” in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and  you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

Our Feature -Pretty in Fiction

132b950c Feature & Follow #80

We are four cousins (well, two pairs of sisters) who have been sharing books, and our crazy love for them for ages—and I do mean crazy. We even took the time to invent, and perfect (well, close enough, for now) a card game, made with index cards, using all our favorite characters. We call it Ultimate Showdown: Crazy Hearts, which is where our review rating system comes from.

We decided we wanted to share our love of books with more than just ourselves, and so Pretty in Fiction was born.

Q: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

Craziest?? Waited in line for hours — but usually that was to meet the author along with the book. To get my hands on Shadowfever I stood in line for hours – then I finally got my hand on the book and then sat and waited for hours to line up to get it signed. I guess that would be craziest.

OJV FF Feature & Follow #80If you have followed me via GFC you will no longer be able to get my feed via GFC or Blogger. I ask that if you use a reader, like Google Reader – just follow my RSS directly. That would be super!

<—- Just clicky clicky!

We have a new button, so update your blogs if you are used to doing this meme!

  1. I’m so not brave enough to stand in line to meet an author! It’s something that I’m definitely working on though. :) Happy FF!

  2. I’d definitely stand in line forever to meet KMM and also to buy Shadowfever. Maybe when she does another Fevercon I’ll be one of those crazy people (and totally relish it).
    I may have stolen a book once…

  3. MaryAnn says:

I love standing in line to pick up books that I have pre-ordered. I get to converse with fellow book nerds :D

  7. anna says:

Love going to book signings. I wish we had more authors come to our area. Nicholas Sparks comes the most often. I think for every book recently he’s come to town. Always have fun going to the signings. Would have loved to meet KMM!

  8. Just an FYI for ya…the HTML code for the new meme button isn’t the correct one. It’s the code for the old one.

  9. Alison says:

Doesn’t sound crazy to me at all…but then again us bloggers would go to great extents to get our books :-)

  10. The code under the button is coming up with the old picture.

I haven’t done much crazy with getting books either other than midnight releases.

    Old follower – Happy Friday!

Hey there! I’m a first time participant in the Feature & Follow Friday. I hope I did everything right (if not, please let me know!).

Thank you for this awesome feature!

    Here’s my Follow Friday post!

  12. Franjessca says:

I definitely would’ve waited in that line for that book too. =) I loved Shadowfever.

  13. I tried changing my picture for FF but the code still brings up the old one?? Maybe I’m doing something wrong …

    Happy FF!

  14. Erica says:

Thanks for FF! I stood in line for the last Harry Potter book, other than that I’ve never done anything crazy.

  15. kathy says:

I’ve only waited in line a couple of times, but it was a lot of fun to be with other people who were such big fans of books. :)

  16. Kira says:

Yikes. Two lines, and both for hours. That’s long. Did you read the book while you waited? I would have.

Thanks for featuring us! Here’s PiF’s! Have a great weekend!

  17. JennRenee says:

I love midnight releases. My daughter and I love to go to them together. Gives me a night to act young again. I am a new follower and just joined the follow friday for the first time. http://jennreneeread.blogspot.com/2012/01/follow-friday-1.html?showComment=1327071228179

love your site! it’s very eye catching. Thanks for the meme.

  18. Aaron Pound says:

My “craziest thing” story is kind of dull too. I guess I’m just one of those people who is willing to wait to get hold of a book (maybe the fact that I have about 5,000 unread books is a contributing factor).

The new button code came up with the old picture for me too. I had to save the image and then upload it to my blog and then incorporate the link code with the new image by hand to get it to work.

  19. Barmy_Bex says:

code for new button doesn’t work it just brings up old one. Seen a few comments so know I’m not going mad. :P

  20. Hmmmm, I think the craziest thing I have ever done is go to the all night Harry Potter release parties and stay out past midnight and then be at work super early the next day. I also went to a release party for one of the Star Wars books at my local Borders that had a book signing when I was in college. I wore a fitted Star Wars t-shirt and a miniskirt. My message consisted of the author’s signature, telephone number and hotel room number!

  21. FABR Steph says:

There are a lot of answers for standing in long lines for books or for signings. All for the love of books. : ) Thanks for hosting.
